## What he does

He calls the practice **agentic engineering**: building the scaffolding, the guardrails
and the feedback loops that let AI agents do work a team would put its name on.

The problem he works on: teams adopt AI and start shipping more every week, but nobody
can tell whether the work is actually improving. The measure he uses instead of volume
is **intervention rate** — how often a human had to step in before a task was done.

In the organisations he works with, teams tend to split roughly three ways. About 20%
already have agents doing real work unsupervised. About 60% are using AI as a faster
autocomplete. About 20% are holding back, usually for defensible reasons around security
and legacy code. The constraint is not effort; it is that nobody tells the middle 60%
what good looks like.
